Sequin Dress 3 Ways
Happy holidays, peeps! This time of the year is filled with friends, family and loads of fun. I love the holidays because we get to dress up and wear lots of sparkles!!
I picked up this little sequin Free People dress (for only $108!) just in time for the holidays. I had trouble styling it at first, so I wanted to share three different looks that ended up working for me! When buying new pieces for my closet, it's important that I can picture what I'll pair with the item, before purchasing it. I like to know that I can rewear a piece multiple times without repeating the exact outfit. Variety is key!
It's helpful to think outside of the box when it comes to dresses. They don't have to be a "one-piece" outfit. Remember when Lyuda put a cute graphic tee over her floral maxi? You can easily take a dress and turn it into a skirt-look by layering with a t-shirt or sweater. I like to wear jackets over dresses for a more casual feel. And, if you want to be on trend, layering fitted tops under your spaghetti strap dresses is still a thing!
1. event: white elephant with friends
I have been pairing these Vans with everything lately. They add a spunky vibe to any dressed up look. I'm really into this outfit because it is super comfortable but gives a stylish, yet effortless feel. Perfect for kicking it with hometown friends & hitting the dive bar.
2. girls day out
Throwing a sweatshirt or oversized sweater over your mini dress instantly gives a sparkly dress a casual feel. Doesn't hurt that you will be much, much warmer, too! I'm one of those people who will actually feel bad towards an item of clothing, if I don't give it enough wear. Weird, but whatever. I love this idea because you get so much more wear out of the dress. This look is ideal for holiday days spent with cousins or catching up with friends over brunch.
3. EVENT: HOLIDAY DINNER PARTY
Now for the occasion we probably all thought of after seeing this dress... holiday party! Keep it simple! Bold shoes and a sleek leather jacket to stay warm does the trick. I'd wear this out to a family holiday dinner or out for drinks with loved ones.
